Dear All,

You may have already seen last week's Facebook post from British Orienteering which explains that the Orienteering Foundation is supporting the GB Team to the Nokian Tyres World Orienteering Championships 2018 Latvia helping to reduce the level of Athlete Contribution.

Donations will go towards the athletes' travel and accommodation to Latvia this summer.

Since last year's appeal a few things have happened which demonstrate that the athletes are proactive and not just sitting back in the hope of receiving funds.

o   https://www.ontheredline.org.uk/ is a new website designed to help keep us up to date with the GB team and learn more about our national squad, follow their training and competitions and follow and support them in international competition. [There's some great new stuff featuring Kris Jones in particular.]

o   Athlete-led events: The athlete-led Scottish Spring weekend raised money that should offset some of the EOC team's expenses. Charlotte Ward sold cakes to raise funds at the  recent HALO/LOG Sea, Sand and Spires weekend.

o   Athletes are also getting involved with developing orienteering: Sport England have recently provided funding to make 8 short training videos with the squad.

If you'd like to make a donation to support our athletes please follow the Orienteering Foundation link below.
