Countryside Score 2018 - Whaley Bridge 27th June

My apologies for a follow up so quickly, the date on the last mail was wrong, the event is on Wednesday 27th June, not the 26th as in the last mail.

The fourth and final
in this year's series of Countryside Score events will use the footpaths and tracks around  Whaley Bridge, based at The Cock Inn.

The Cock Inn, 22 Buxton Rd, Whaley Bridge, High Peak SK23 7JE.

The area is fairly hilly so don't try to the same distance you may have done at earlier events like Dunham Massey.

Registration from 6.30 and start at 7.15.

Run for 60 or 90 minutes and find as many of the checkpoints as possible using an extract from an OS Map, footpaths, lanes and quiet roads, answering simple questions at each checkpoint.

To reserve a map (very strongly advised as we ran out at the last one) please mail us here on  Score2018@mdoc.org.uk

More info will be posted here. Parking is at the pub and in the surrounding streets, if you use these please park considerately.
Return to the pub within your chosen run time to avoid penalties and then compare routes with other runners.
Under 16s must be accompanied. Dogs must be on leads please.
PLEASE - if you come across livestock, even if they are on a footpath, be prepared to slow to a walk and avoid scaring them. A group of scared cows can quickly turn into a very scared runner and an unhappy farmer.
The Cock a typical pub menu, we indicate (when you reserve your map if you plan to eat and if so please order before the night - this will help the kitchen team a lot. If you don't order beforehand it may well be pot luck on the night. The menu is copied below.
