Dear All

You may be aware that in recent years MDOC has put on a couple of 'come and try it' orienteering events in South Park in Macclesfield, in association with the S:Park Community Interest Company.

Yesterday I received an invitation to put on another such event this summer.

As I'm planning the next Countryside Score event (Dunham Massey on 30 May) and controlling the Horwich Sprints on 17 June and our Brereton evening event on 19 June, I would rather not commit to planning/organising another event in the near future...
...but I don't want to let down our friends at S:Park.

Hence this email request...
Would anyone be prepared to take on planning and organising an event in South Park please?
Our previous events have provided the following courses: White, Yellow, Short Orange and Short Light Green. [Longer courses are not feasible.]

Please let me know if you can take this on and which dates would suit you.
I'll then be pleased to put you in touch with the people at S:Park.

Thanks in anticipation
Ian

Hi Ian,

I hope you're well.  We are organising our calendar of events for the summer on the park, and wondered if you would like to do your orienteering?  We'd love to support you if so.

You may be aware that parkrun started at the park a few weeks ago, this starts at 9am every Saturday and everyone is usually long gone by 11, but this needs bearing in mind with regards to setup time as it's a really busy run that attracts hundreds of people!  That said, it has hugely increased footfall in the park so could help to promote the orienteering too.  Or maybe a Sunday would work?

Look forward to seeing you soon,

Becky
