BOF has set up a questionnaire for volunteers, so that BOF can find out how to best support volunteers.
However, the people who directly ask you to volunteer are other members of MDOC!
If while filling in the questionnaire you have any ideas about how we do things, or things we fail to do then please let me know.
We can only do it better if we are told about the failings in the way we do it now.
Having said that lots of members of MDOC are amazing in the generosity of their volunteering.
There are some potential gaps for the future, we sometimes feel that perhaps too much depends on those who are in their late 60s and 70s.
We do need more offers of help as organisers and planners for local events, which is how you learn. Planning is an excellent way
of improving your orienteering skills as you have to get to know the map really well. We will always find a mentor for a novice planner or organiser.
