Dear Vicky,

This is from one of my friends from Gothenberg. His club are looking for runners to compete in Tio Mila though it clashes with the British. I'm off to the States for 2 weeks tomorrow and have no way of posting this through MDOC to see if anyone is interested. Is it possible for you to post it via simple lists or similar and see if anyone is interested? Chris Rostron would probably like to know that we could collaborate over Jukkola. It could be good for MDOC juniors to have contacts in Sweden and LERUM SOK have some good juniors. Ben seemed quite happy with his run on Sunday and it was great the team qualified for the final. Thanks for organising the minibus.

Best wishes

Tim Martland

Hi Tim,

I have considered going to Scotland this summer again but this was not possible. I do know that two families from Lerum are going to run the six days, the Djerf and the Cox´s family.

I´m happy to see that your club are talking about Jukkola. If you miss one or two runners I´m sure we have some who can support your team. On the other hand Lerum SOK are running the Tiomila May 4-5th and we need three to four able runners who would join our team. The long night is waiting for someone taking the challenge (you?).  We like to host your team members before, during and after the competition if they like to train / compete in Sweden some more days.

There is even talk about having a ladies team (5 legs) but our most scilled runners have to run both the youth event and the ladies event at the same day...

We have  to send in the entering forms in one or two days so please let me know if some of your team migth be interested.

Best wishes to Mel, Rosie and Ben

 Torsten

Hi Torsten,

I received this and thought it might be a good way for you to see if you are interested in coming over this summer. I'll need to e-mail you properly another time. One of my MDOC colleagues is keen to come over for a weekend of racing later this year and there is even talk of an MDOC Jukola team!

Best wishes to Karin and the children

Orienteering Event

Scottish 6 Days

Entries now open

Hi Timothy

As we enter 2013 you will be thinking about your holiday. You entered our event at Oban in 2011, as an individual or on behalf of a family, group or club. We hope you had a wonderful time and invite you to join us again at Moray 2013.

The orienteering will be great - complex sand dune areas complemented by technically challenging inland areas, all pleasantly runnable. You will also be able to see some top elites in action as we host Euromeeting, where many seeking selection for the 2015 World Championships (also to be held in this part of Scotland) will compete as part of our event.

The Event camp site will be in the grounds of historic Brodie Castle, near Forres. Moray is a fantastic holiday destination with lots to do when you're not enjoying the forests.

Moray is in north east Scotland with good transport links from Inverness and Aberdeen - and usually enjoys the best weather in Scotland.

Visit our website at  www.scottish6days.com/2013  We look forward to seeing you there!

Moray 2013
28th July - 3rd August

Our logo, the whisky still, tells us that Moray is whisky country but that's not all it has to offer...

Wildlife abounds - dolphins in the Moray Firth, salmon in the rivers, ospreys on lochs, deer and birds of prey on the high hills.

Moray also offers indoor diversions including the chance to sample local produce such as shortbread, knitwear, salmon, smoked venison and other foods - and, of course, whisky.
