Hi all

It doesn't seem 2 minutes since our opening event in Macclesfield, but the season's finale is now imminent. The final (?) results tables for Series 7 have been published on the website and its time to send out the invite to our final event of the season - based at The Ladybrook, Fir Road, Bramhall, SK7 2NP on Thursday 1st March.

As has become traditional over the last few years, this "Cup Final" event will have a slightly different format from our other events (but that hard-earned familiarity with green boxes and substations will definitely come in handy), and the winner on the night will receive "The Hydrant Trophy". Our statisticians are working tirelessly to ensure that everyone who competes has a very good chance of winning!

Once the excitement over the Hydrant Trophy has subsided, we shall be presenting the trophies and prizes based on the season's league tables. Once again, we have an additional trophy this year - to reward Improved Performance (another one for the statisticians!). As with our Level Best (or Least Deviant) Trophy, you don't necessarily have to be at the top of the league for this ......

Over to Dave McCann (planner etc) for some preliminary details of the event format:

Format for the night will be a 60 minute run (for ALL) with a snakes and adders theme. There will be the usual range of controls - with 2 special types.

A snake will have a score over 100, but the sting is each snakes kills off 3 of the low scoring controls visited.
An adder will be a 50 or 60 point control that "revives" 3 of the controls killed by a snake if there are any.
Going for high value controls and missing the low ones may not be the best plan....

All clear?  Erm ....... Dave assures me that further details will be available on the website very soon!

Parking is either side of the pub and local residential roads.

Food is ordered from a good value menu. We don't need to order before running but this may be advisable. If you do this, make sure you give a realistic time. We have the back room reserved but people eating can use the main pub. There is a quiz starting at 9 pm so the main pub will get busier then.

As usual, we need to get an idea of the number of maps required, so please contact me (grahamecrawshaw@gmail.com or  nsl2017@mdoc.org.uk ) to reserve yours by Sunday 25th February at 10 pm

Looking forward to the avalanche of replies - it promises to be another great night of Street League Orienteering - I hope to see you ALL there!

Cheers

Grahame
