Dear All

When I was driving along a poorly-lit street in Halifax last night, I spotted two runners - but I only spotted them when I'd got within a few metres of them.
The guy on the inside of the pavement had two small reflective flashes on his running tights, and the guy on the outside was all in black and was in effect invisible in the prevailing light conditions.

This reminded me that at our most recent NSL event in Marple, I noticed that a number of participants were not wearing anything with hi-viz. Some may have had it on, but had covered it with an anorak as it was a cold and wet evening.

Wearing hi-viz when running along the streets reduces the risk of being hit by a vehicle.
But not only that: in my view it is unfair to passing motorists if you aren't immediately visible to them.

If you forget your hi-viz when you attend a NSL event (or you don't own any), Grahame does take a few hi-viz bibs along to each event.
Please ask at Registration if you can borrow one for the duration of your run.

Thanks
Ian
