Subject: Wednesday run 14th Nov 6 Leyfield Avenue

Hi Everyone,

I attach three maps of different scales showing where we live, postcode SK4 4AP.

Easiest way to find it is to come in via either Bredbury or via Hazel Grove / Otterspool / Wyevale (Marple Garden Centre), then down Gorsey Brow or right at the lights and down School Brow, up the hill into Romiley, under the railway bridge, immediately left into Guywood Lane, then first right into Leyfield Avenue. Our house is then round first corner on left.

From Compstall follow the main road into Romiley down the hill, turn right into Central Drive just after Sandy Lane, first left into Leyfield Avenue. Our house is then round first corner on right.

Romiley is a hilly area, not much scope for routes not involving off road. Please bring torch. Most viable routes go down along the canal path which is ok as long as we don't get wet weather this coming week, otherwise it can be muddy and puddly. Please regard the public right of way across Romiley Golf course as out of bounds, as there is no actual path and the route is hard to find in the dark without going on the private golf greens.

There are options to run up onto Werneth Low for the good runners, or to drive 10 mins to the Werneth Low Visitor Centre and do a really good round from there which is not too long, not too hilly and with good views of the lights of Tameside, Glossop and Hattersley below.

Amother option is to drive 5 mins to Etherow Country Park and run round the reservoirs to the weir and back on good surfaces and flat too.

Best wishes
Richard Evans
