The popular series of Countryside Score events starts soon, with a new, never used before venue. The Ship at Styal, near Manchester Airport, will be the base for the event on 31st May. Although close to the airport, you will have the pleasant Bollin Valley, Quarry Bank Mill and the surrounding farmland to run around.
Registration from 6.30 and start at 7.15. Run for 60 or 90 minutes and find as many of the checkpoints as possible using an extract from an OS Map, footpaths, lanes and quiet roads, answering simple questions at each checkpoint. To reserve a map (advised) please mail us here on Score2017@mdoc.org.uk More info here Return to the pub within your chosen run time to avoid penalties and then compare routes with other runners. Under 16s must be accompanied. Dogs allowed on run, on leads and in the pub garden (but not the pub itself) The Ship offer a varied menu and ask that if you want to eat try to order before your run and indicate what time you would like serving.
Other events in the series will be at Alderley Edge, Higher Poynton, Hayfield and Marple Ridge |
