Thanks to all the MDOCers who came down to help at the British Trail Orienteering Championships and to those who helped in advance sorting out printing, the website and help about entries.

Sorry to those of you who did come down that I was busy running round trying to keep an eye on things from a Planner's perspective (I was paranoid about kites falling over) to brief people and check on you as much as I would have done had I just been the Organiser.

So thanks to the pre-start team of Cecilia and Dom; Start official Liz; early finish and kite checked Dave W and especially Margaret on Download/Registration/Results (who must have had an excellent briefing from Anne B as you looked totally in your element – allowing both Dick and Anne to have a "run").

Also thanks to Dave M, Eddie and Kath for your help before and/or after the event with the printing, mailshot, sorting out helpers and webpages.

A final thanks to Pete L who came down to offer his support, but at that point I felt we were pretty much in control, but thanks a lot anyway – and also for sorting out the old short canes in advance which we used to make tripods for the kites on the hardest of the rocky knolls.

That is BTOC 2009, 2012 and 2017 I've planned now (as well as planner/controlled JK 2015) so I think I'll aim to be competing in BTOC for the next few years, not planning/organising it.

I've heard suggestions I might be involved in JK 2019 though …

Cheers

JK
