Mike,

Lake District woodland probably sells for over £10,000 per acre, see: http://www.woodlands.co.uk/buying-a-wood/cumbria/

This is a bit much, even for rich organisatgions such as MDOC!

Charities do often purchase land such as this, but Woodland Trust and RSPB might not give us permission for events.

Any idea what the guide price is?

Would charities like the Woodland Trust / RSPB be interested in buying the land?

Four coppices are for sale.

Coal Coppice and Close Head Coppice we do not use.

Hoathwaite Coppice is very small and not a problem if we can’t use it.

Fleming Coppice is part of the woodland that we usually use and it would be shame to lose permission.
However it is surrounded by quite a high stone wall and we have usually used stiles to get into and out of it.

There is still a very good area of woodland still usable, and hopefully this will continue to be accessible to us for some time.
