Four coppices are for sale.

Coal Coppice and Close Head Coppice we do not use.

Hoathwaite Coppice is very small and not a problem if we can’t use it.

Fleming Coppice is part of the woodland that we usually use and it would be shame to lose permission.
However it is surrounded by quite a high stone wall and we have usually used stiles to get into and out of it.

There is still a very good area of woodland still usable, and hopefully this will continue to be accessible to us for some time.

Andrew

Good evening John

I happened to notice in the Westmorland Gazette this week that some small parcels of the woodland around Hoathwaite that MDOC have used in the past are being auctioned this week, presumably leading to a change in ownership that it may be worth MDOC being aware of, as and when it is (hopefully) used again.
The auction particulars are attached with a detailed plan on page 6 showing the 3 Lots.
I don't know if anyone within MDOC takes a particular interest in the Torver Common area but perhaps you can pass it on as appropriate,

Best wishes
Derek
