2 day test of endurance, teamwork and mountain skills
Held in some of the most remote locations at a time of year when conditions can be extremely challenging.
Teams of 2 spend 2 days using their mountain skills to find a series of checkpoints spread across 420km2 remote UK wilderness. At the end of day 1 teams head to a remote mountain campsite.
The teams are self-reliant for the duration and must carry everything they will need.

DAY 1 CAMPSITE: Remote campsite in the mountains
SKILLS REQUIRED: endurance, navigation, survival, route selection, teamwork, intelligence!
TERRAIN: Trail, bog, mud, tussocks, track, heather, scree, rock, grass, forest, river.
First run in 1968 as a 2 day test of a persons capability in the mountains, combining navigation, teamwork and skills. The Original Mountain Marathon is considered to be the event that all adventure races descend from. 2016 will be the 49th running of THE OMM.
