Subject: BBC Radio Manchester Interview Request
Date: Thu, 31 Mar 2016 10:31:20 +0000

Hi

I produce the Breakfast Show at BBC Radio Manchester. This morning on Page 3 of the Daily Telegraph there was a story about how children now lack basic navigation and map reading skills. In an article in the journal Nature, Roger McKinlay has written that our reliance on Sat Navs means we are losing our way, literally, and that we will lose our natural navigational skills.

Would someone from the club be available to come in to our studio for an interview tomorrow morning to talk about Orienteering, what it is and how it uses map reading?

It won’t be anything heavy and will be an opportunity to talk about what you do.

We are on air between 6.00am – 9.00am and ideally I would be looking at being on-air either at 7.45 or 8.45.

Many thanks for considering this request.

Best wishes

Euan
