Hi all

Last chance to boost those league scores! A glance at the overall results tables shows that although some of the prize categories are already sown up (pretty much!), there is still plenty to play for as we approach our penultimate event of the season, so .......

The 8th event of MDOC's NSL season will take place on Thursday February 18th 2016, based at Wetherspoons (Society Rooms), Park Green, Macclesfield, SK11 7NA, (Grid Ref SJ 918 733).

The organising team have provided the following information -

Parking

The pub has a relatively small car park (approx. 20 spaces), and there are other small public car parks across the road.  There is a large (300 spaces) public car park between Churchill Way and Duke Street – just South of Cinemac/The Old Sunday School Heritage centre: Duke St, Macclesfield  SK11 6UR (vehicle access to the car park is via Roe St and right onto Duke Street, or Park Green and left onto Duke Street).

Early arrivals (before 6pm) may need to pay for a ticket.  From here, walk south (right) down Duke Street and turn right into Park Green to reach the pub (estimated walking time approx. 2 mins).

Food: is from the standard Wetherspoons menu: although you can choose your meal on the night, the pub manager has asked that we give an approximate idea of numbers.

SAFETY information.

The northern part of the map is bisected by the Silk Road dual carriageway.  This must not be crossed except at marked bridges and crossing points.  ‘Tesco roundabout’ is also out of bounds.  The major roads are likely to remain busy throughout the event so please exercise caution when crossing.  The map also contains a section of canal towpath, which may be hazardous if the weather is icy and is invariably muddy.

We shall be printing maps next weekend, so please let me know by midnight on Friday 12th February if you are planning to attend. Although food orders will be made over the bar, the pub landlord has asked us to give him a sensible estimate of numbers of people eating in advance.  So....... if you are planning to eat in the pub - let me know that as well!

Looking forward to hearing from you
