Dear All

The likely venue for the Event Safety Workshop on Monday 1 February is as follows:

Arthur Greenwood Community Centre

Hipley Close

Woodley

Stockport

SK6 1ES

I aimed to find somewhere inexpensive but suitable and within a short distance of the M60, as people are coming from various points of the compass.

I’ve sent a booking form and a cheque off today, and I’ll let those attending know when the booking is confirmed.
I’ve requested a 4-hour period from 18:00 to 22:00, and provisionally the workshop will run from 18:30 to 21:30 - I need to revise and rehearse what we’re going to cover before confirming the duration.
There is a projector and a screen and I’ve requested permission to use those.

There is limited parking at the Centre, but plenty of on-street opportunities nearby - provided we don’t hamper residents’ parking.

There are good tea and coffee facilities available - if I remember the milk!
If it takes your fancy you can BYOB.

I’m not proposing to provide any food, but if you want to eat something during the evening please bring it along, or you could buy something from the small shopping centre on the North side of A560 Hyde Road, barely 100m away from the centre.

So far, the following people have advised me they would like to attend:
Beren Airstone
Richard Evans
Mike Greenwood
Clare Griffin
Edward Jones (DEE)
Rae Lomas
David McCann
Alan Ogden
Dan Riley
Peter Ross
David Wathey
Paul Watson

The Centre has room for several more.
If you would like to attend but have not yet done so, please let me know by next Friday 15 January.

I will be planning the workshop over the next 2 weeks and am aware that some of those who attended 4 years ago would welcome either another set of notes, or the possibility of downloading a set of materials. I will see what I can do.

Thanks, Ian
