Its me again!

Yet another addition to the saga on coaching courses below. Roughly, if you want to attend, book yourself but tell me asap so the Club can set financial wheels in motion before the course takes place....and you thought your tax return was tricky!!

Hi all,

Just wanted to add that Dan is referring to the standard NWOA grant towards any orienteering-related course, and not something new. Therefore normal rules apply and if your club has someone that you wish to support on this (or any other relevant course), either you or the member should make the booking and pay the fee. The club rather than the individual should then apply to me for a NWOA grant with appropriate details of the cost to them and suitable backup, e.g. a copy invoice. This must be before the course takes place. NWOA will reimburse the club, who can refund the member when necessary as and when they think fit.

Sorry if this sounds a bit long winded, but the club has to be kept in the loop and this is the only way to do that. If I get applications directly from individuals I've never heard of then I've no idea whether they will use the training for the benefit of the club or region.

Hope you can find a few of your members who might be interested in participating at Tower Wood.

Steve

Dear NWOA club contacts.

Please can you let members know that it is still possible for them to receive funding from the NWOA for the forthcoming UKCCL1 course at Tower Wood in the Lake District. The course being held from the 29th to the 31st of January 2016 and is being tutored by Derek Allison.

Full details are available on the British Orienteering web site (link here).

Most importantly the deadline for applications is Friday December 18th

In order to clarify how the grant process works, I have been in touch with Steve Round today and he stated that

Anyone from a NWOA club interested in this course should be encouraged to apply to their club for a grant.

If the club approves the application, as most will, they should pay the attendee or the provider, as convenient, and the club can apply to me for NWOA funding. This will be to reimburse the club rather than the individual. Club treasurers and secretaries should all be aware of this.

Tower Wood are looking forward to receiving your bookings.

Kind Regards

Dan Riley
