Dear All,

You may recall that (back in June) Clare Griffin informed us of three forthcoming roadshows relating to the South West Peak Landscape Partnership.

Their original invitation included the following paragraph:
You are invited to come to one of the roadshows being held to provide information about this new project working for a healthier and better functioning landscape for people and wildlife. Supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, the £2.5M project will focus on natural and cultural heritage in the South West Peak with local communities as key to its success. This is your chance to find out what activities are being proposed, say what you think, and see how you can get involved.

I managed to get along to the Kettleshulme workshop (which Steve Osborne also attended.
[The savoury snacks were excellent!]

The email below and attachment report on the three workshops.
From diagrams in the attachment it is clear that both Macc Forest and Errwood/Goyt Valley lie within the target area.

The links in Karen Shelley-Jones’s signature in her email below provide access to more information.

It is not too late to influence how the £2.5M might be allocated.

If anyone can identify a possible improvement in, say, either of these orienteering areas (or elsewhere within the target area) that could be (perhaps part-) funded by this initiative please let me know and I would be happy either to raise it with Karen Shelley-Jones, or I could introduce you to her.

Thanks, Ian

Dear all,

In June the South West Peak Landscape Partnership ran three community roadshows in Wildboarclough, Warslow and Kettleshulme.  One of the favourite activities from the roadshows was a large map onto which we invited people to post their comments about positive and negative attributes of the area.

Please find attached a report from the roadshows with the comments as written on the map.

Kind regards,

Karen
