Yes, hello again,

We now have 44 requests for maps for next Thursday’s finale, and thanks to all those who have been in touch.
But, as we had 81 requests for maps for the Wilmslow event you can perhaps see why I wonder whether everyone who plans to come next week has let me know.
I have been having some problems with emails for which I apologise, but if you think you’ve requested a map and I have not yet acknowledged that request then please do submit your request again. [Sorry]

Any food can be ordered on the night and some spare maps will be available, but it would help at Registration if I could compile an (almost) complete list of participants for our Registration team to work with. Thanks

So…
…any further map requests please?

Thanks, Ian

Hello again,

So far, I’ve only received 17 requests for a map for the NSL Prize-giving event on Thursday, 5th March.
I hope I’ve responded to all requests submitted, but if I haven’t responded to your request then I have failed to spot it, and I need to ask you to submit your request again please.

For the avoidance of doubt, you don’t have to be in line for a prize to attend. 😊
But it is the occasion when the men’s and women’s (perpetual) Owl Trophies (sponsored by Tony Hulme at Running Bear) will be awarded, as well as other prizes.
It is also the occasion when The Hydrant Trophy will be won by the person who performs best against their on-the-night handicap, which is based on their performance during the rest of the 2014-15 NSL series.

So, roll-up, roll-up!
I look forward to receiving many more map requests, and seeing you in Sale West on Thursday 5th March for a wonderful series finale.

Cheers, Ian

Hello everyone,

Thanks to John Britton and Julie Brook, the final results of the 2014/5 MDOC Night Street League are now on the web:
http://www.mdoc.org.uk/results/nightstreetleague2014-15results.htm

As last year, Peter Ross and Jillyan Dobby are putting on a final event at which prizes for the 2014-15 series will be presented.
The event is on Thursday 5th March, and Peter has provided the following information:

We have a new venue for the Cup.
It's the recently refurbished Samuel Brooks at 323 Manor Avenue in Sale, M33 4WD. Here is the link: http://www.samuelbrookssale.co.uk

There is no need to order food beforehand because the pub has an extensive menu including chicken tikka massala, gammon and pineapple and/or half a roast chicken. There are also desserts and sundaes.   NB Food is served until 9pm.

The landlord has set aside an area of the pub for us.

There is a reasonably sized car park and plenty of street parking nearby.

The pub's location, which is in the middle of the competition area, has enabled Jillyan and I to give everyone the chance to enjoy the most complex of the Ashton-upon-Mersey map plus some brand new complex stuff to the south.

We're calling the new map Sale West. Its scale will be 1:10,000

The Cup Competition rules will be similar to last year:

All courses will be 60 minutes.
All controls of equal value.
Penalty points for being late will be equivalent to 3 controls per minute.
All competitors will receive a handicap based on their average scores in the Night Street League.
The winner of the Cup will be the person whose points score divided by their handicap is the greatest.

PS From an admin point of view everyone should have started by 7.30 at the latest.

So, I do hope you will be able to come along.

If you can come, please email me to reserve a map.

To give Steve a chance to print maps over the weekend, please respond by 10pm on Friday 27th February.

Thanks

Ian
