Great design debate everyone!

I think the England design is very elegant and agree with Trevor’s idea of green side pieces and keeping the red collar.  I think the Istanbul design is the most attractive I’ve seen and if we could incorporate some graphic – I think trees rather than cityscape – into the lower part of the top that would be great.  A vertical Manchester like the England I think is very strong and well supported by most.

Question

Answer

Do you currently own a club running top?

Yes – One short sleeve

If yes when did you purchase it?

Ages ago

Would you be interested in purchasing a new club running top?

Yes, we’d all be buying one

Would you be interested in purchasing a club ‘wind top’?

Yes very much so

Do you prefer long sleeves or short?

Short sleeves, wear a helly under in winter

Which neck style do you prefer (V, round etc.)?

Short zip at front

Do you prefer a solid material or mesh?

Mesh or combination of both if possible.

Do you think we should display a club logo on the tops?

Not a great fan of the logo

Should we stick with the existing MDOC colours (white/green/blue) or make use of different colours?

Please indicate from the pantones below which you would prefer

Green white and red is I think distinctive and still “MDOC”

What colour should the word Manchester be? (red/blue! or other)

Vertical Manchester on back, white on red looks magic

What do we want as a design?

Traditional panel-like solid colours, stylised forest scene mixed with Manchester cityscape silhouette?

Any other ideas?

Panel-like colours with forest scene (silhouette?) printed on lower part.

Trevor

Rae has just modelled her England top here in Germany (see attached photos) and it could form the basis of a suitable simple design. The red side pieces could be MDOC green, the red neck could remain. With MANCHESTER on the back and a possible MDOC logo on the front.

Hi All - those of you quick off the mark will already have spotted the link on the club web site asking for your thoughts on new club kit. The committee have been discussing this for a while now and want to move swiftly to a conclusion based on the views of the membership. As the document on the web site describes we believe we have found a supplier who can provide such kit and also wind tops (like those that SYO/OD members wear).

It would be really great if you could all spend a little time completing the questions in the document and adding any additional comments you might have. For those of you with an artistic bent you can even help us come up with a design if you cut/paste the images into a drawing tool like Paint or similar, hand drawing/colouring would also be fine.

So that we can move forwards we ask that your responses are sent back before the end of the month so that they can be collated and discussed at the next committee meeting. Please reply direct to this email.

I've attached a couple of noddy ideas to stimulate your thoughts. The idea with the forest is that it would somehow be printed across the entire back section, I just can't stretch the image in that way with Paint.

The links to the document are on the web site but I've included them here as well.
