This is a really nice elegant design and I like Trevor's ideas for colours but I hope it would be available in long sleeves; this would be useless against British weather/brambles.

Rae has just modelled her England top here in Germany (see attached photos) and it could form the basis of a suitable simple design. The red side pieces could be MDOC green, the red neck could remain. With MANCHESTER on the back and a possible MDOC logo on the front.

After reading everyone who has contributed so far, I would prefer:

  • Similar material to the NWJS tops as opposed to the holey tops of the french,
  • Zip at front for ventilation on warmer days(!!)
  • Strong colours so we stand out from the crowd- I like the idea of a tree or forest on the back but I don't mind
  • Manchester written somewhere ...on the back would be preferable
  • keeping some of the colours already used on our tops now- but I think adding red or a strong yellow would be good. I really like the NWJS tops as they look smart, stand out and the colours are good but obviously we would want a different combination of colour.
  • A top that would appeal to a mix of ages and not just the younger ones in the club. I am aware that alot of the older females found the MDOC tops too tight around thier hips and had to alter them. The french tops are more generously cut although personally I prefer the trimtex cut.

hope that helps

Hi All - those of you quick off the mark will already have spotted the link on the club web site asking for your thoughts on new club kit. The committee have been discussing this for a while now and want to move swiftly to a conclusion based on the views of the membership. As the document on the web site describes we believe we have found a supplier who can provide such kit and also wind tops (like those that SYO/OD members wear).

It would be really great if you could all spend a little time completing the questions in the document and adding any additional comments you might have. For those of you with an artistic bent you can even help us come up with a design if you cut/paste the images into a drawing tool like Paint or similar, hand drawing/colouring would also be fine.

So that we can move forwards we ask that your responses are sent back before the end of the month so that they can be collated and discussed at the next committee meeting. Please reply direct to this email.

I've attached a couple of noddy ideas to stimulate your thoughts. The idea with the forest is that it would somehow be printed across the entire back section, I just can't stretch the image in that way with Paint.

The links to the document are on the web site but I've included them here as well.

Thanks in anticipation for your time and replies

Trevor (on behalf of The Committee)
