Hi all

The sixth event in the MDOC Night Street League series will take place on Thursday 22nd January 2015, based at The White Horse, 18 Buxton Old Road, Disley, SK12 2BB.

Trevor Hindle, the planner for our evening's entertainment, has provided the following information:

Event Details

There are a couple of differences from our usual format - to test your strategic thinking. Those of you who know Disley will know that it is not very big - but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in hills!  For this reason, there will be an OPTIONAL map exchange, which can be made at any time. There are roughly equal numbers of controls on each map.

If you do choose to exchange, you MUST give up your part one map before you will be given part two! This does NOT mean that you have to visit all of the controls on the part one map. The map exchange is NOT at the start but will be manned and marked on the part one map.

The choice is yours, and it might be advantageous for some not to exchange at all……….

In addition, all controls are worth 10 points, and the penalty is one control (10 points!) lost for every 10 seconds (or part thereof) late.

Parking

Whilst there is parking at the White Horse (P4) it is limited and entry/exit is on a single track road which might make it hard to use.

P1 is the preferred parking location if you are arriving after 1800. This is the car park of the Ram’s Head pub but is free after 1800 and is large. If arriving before 1800, or you find that P1 is full, consider using P5 which is the parking at Disley railway station, accessed from the A6.

P2 is the car park near Disley library, the start is near the library so please be aware of runners if using this and if possible avoid using this.

P3 is parking in front of Disley’s shops.

Food

The White Horse has agreed to provide the following options at £6.95 per head:

Beef lasagne

Chicken curry

Mushroom stroganoff

With rice, chips or ½ rice/½ chips.

Please support the White Horse as they have been very friendly and helpful in terms of space etc. and it is possible that the club will be using them again this year for other events such as a Countryside Score.

We need to give the pub an estimate of the food orders by Sunday evening, so .....

if you are planning to come along, please drop me an email to reserve a map, and (if you intend to eat at the pub!) indicate your choice from the menu above by 2pm on Sunday 18th January. Don't forget - do it NOW!

Cheers

Grahame
