Its me again. Do you want to be famous and on the tele - your passport to Big Brother or even 'Strictly'? There seems no limit to the weird and wonderful requests coming in to MDOC. I filter out the ones about rescuing Nigerian princesses etc. Charlotte (see below) rang then emailed me as below. Think they are looking for either individuals but possibly groups of 4. Auditions in Manchester but recording in London ~ March. If you fancy demonstrating your intellectual prowess to the world/having a laugh, apply to Charlotte as below. I will definitely NOT be co-ordinating a Club response!
Even more fun - arena helpers at WOC 2015. The list is growing (thanks) but we need more. We should be in a position to enable some to also run in the sprint that day (4/8/15) but can't be certain yet. Darnaway and Forres are quite close to eo.

Hi Tony
Thank you for returning my call and for being so helpful. Just to give you a background I work at Objective Productions (the makers of The Cube, Derren Brown and Peep Show) and we’re making an exciting new game show called Beat The Brain. We’re looking for teams made up of 4 people and wondered if it may be of interest to the Manchester and District Orienteering Club especially as one of the rounds is based on orienteering!
Beat the Brain is a quiz show which has nothing to do with general knowledge but is all about how you think. From brain teasers, to problem solving, to crosswords and memory mind games and orienteering, this show is all about testing brain capabilities!
We are looking for people who may love to do crosswords or Sudoku puzzles or may be a whizz at orienting, or perhaps you know someone with the most amazing memory if so we want to hear from them! We’re looking for teams made up of 4 people, the team could be a social group or group of family or friends or work colleagues, either way we’re looking for people who may think they have what it takes to Beat the Brain.
It would be great if you could circulate the information within your members for us, so I’ve attached a flyer about the show. Also at the bottom of my email I’ve included the details of the games so people know what’s in store!
