We're searching for a temporary technician to assist with the installation and monitoring of a collaborative NAU and USGS restoration program this fall in Arizona and Utah. The position will begin as soon as possible and continue through early November. The first few weeks of the position will require daily fieldwork, potentially on a part-time schedule, based out of Flagstaff. The installation of field sites in the Moab area in mid-late October will require overnight travel, potentially for two-week stretches of fieldwork that may involve camping.

Requirements:

Knowledge of basic botany and plant surveying techniques. Must be able to follow instruction carefully and responsibly collect objective scientific data.

Ability to conduct fieldwork requiring manual labor, such as fence installation, vegetation removal, raking, digging, and planting.

Clean driving record, and ability to drive long hours, sometimes in remote conditions.

Ability to work well alone, in pairs, and in large group settings.
