Under the supervision of the Invasive Species Program Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisor), the incumbent will assist with statewide invasive species management with a focus on quagga/zebra mussel-related efforts. The incumbent will compile data and evaluate waterbody risk of mussel establishment; develop statewide water sampling and invasive mussel monitoring plans; research invasive species threats; conduct internal and external coordination, outreach, and education; coordinate with staff throughout the Department on implementation of invasive species early-detection monitoring and data management; develop and present information related to the Program; and represent the Program at meetings. In addition, the incumbent will respond to requests for information from the public and others regarding invasive species. This position works closely with regional and Program staff and the public.
