Subject: ASAP - your help needed - DMV access concerns re Photo ID
Dear advocacy partners,
I need your help. We are advocating for improved access to DMV sites to obtain Photo ID for Voting, including the ideas of traveling sites, expanded hours etc. This issue is a concern for
people with disabilities as so many do not drive and need to obtain a photo ID for voting from the DMV. Limited DMV hours, and lack of transportation to get to the DMV are barriers to obtaining the needed ID to vote.
We need examples of how limited DMV access impacts people with disabilities who want to vote and can’t easily get to DMV to apply for a Photo ID. Can you please help and get back to me with
examples ASAP – and definitely this week!
Your example can share a specific situation (we don’t need names) or talk about the general issue – ie, for people who live in the region served by XXX, it can take over an hour to get to
a DMV location and the hours are limited to XXX and only one day a week.
