Re: [BAA Comets] Comet 103P/Hartley observing campaign

Thanks to everyone who has offered to take part in this campaign.
Gian and I will work out the details over the next few weeks but, for
now, please image the comet in a suitable red band (see the options in
the article), calibrate with high quality flats and darks and produce
two stacks, one tracked on the stars and one on the comet. Ideally your
calibration and processing should be done in floating point and the FITS
files should be saved as floating point. If possible keep all the
calibrated subframes in case we need them later.
We should agree on a standard name for the files. I suggest we extend
our image file format so some example files would be:
103P_20230706_2311_ndj1_r_n.fit
103P_20230706_2311_ndj1_r_o.fit
where _r_ designates the filter band, _n_ or _o_ designate the
stationary or offset stacks respectively, ndj1 is a free-format
observer/telescope code, 20230706 is the date and 231116 is the exposure
mid-time.
Let me know if you have alternative suggestions. I'll update these
details as things come together.
