At 19:26UT today, Jean-François Soulier reported in a private communication
that Centaur comet 29P/Schwassmann-Wachmann had undergone a 1.6-mag outburst
detected using his 29PREMOTE observatory (L27) in Haute Provence, France.

Confirmation was obtained by myself two hours later at 21:27-21:33 using a
0.4-m telescope on Tenerife, part of the Las Cumbres Observatory network.
The observations were possible thanks to the support of the Faulkes
Telescope Project.
The likely outburst time was 2022 February 11.53 +/-0.18  and the exhibited
magnitude change was 16.60R => 15.05R (5.7" radius aperture)

This is the brightest outburst since 2021 October 23, i.e. 111 days earlier
and may be indicative of the same source erupting after two further
rotations of the nucleus in line with the proposed 57.7-day rotation period
of the nucleus. Since last October the comet has been apparently quiescent
apart from undergoing 5 mini-outbursts ranging in amplitude from 0.35-0.60
mag.
