With the Makey Makey https://makeymakey.com/blogs/blog/assistive-technology-occupational-therapy-and-more-accessibility-resources you can make switches from many different surfaces. A very light touch is always sufficient.
For example, you can work with skin contact, but a piece of fruit or a metal plate are also possible.
The Makey Makey is only a device for making switches. The application for making music is separate from that. But you can also find a lot of nice apps on their website: https://makeymakey.com/pages/plug-and-play-makey-makey-apps
